I was watching “What’s On Joost!”, when I realized …

How much more fun the internet has become … What? I wanted to see what the “Blog This” option from Joost does. And this is what I got.

The FCC has mandated that all over-the-air tv transmission be moved to digital by February 17, 2009.

To make this easier to those that still have rabbit-ears on their televisions, they are handing out two (2), $40 coupons for purchasing set-top boxes to perform the necessary conversion.  I’ve gone online already to dtv2009.gov and registered.  I’ll be spending some time soon doing research on the best deal for digital tv (dtv) conversion boxes, so check back, or if you have any information, let me know.

The Evolution of Tech Companies’ Logos

February 9th, 2008 Posted in General | No Comments »

I’ve always been interested in technology, or rather, electronics. I’m sure my dad would have a hard time counting the number of devices I took apart as a kid. Both working and non-working.  Through a blog that I read, I saw this great article on The Evolution of Tech Companies Logos.

Now, I grew up in the 80’s when the 286 computer was out. And through friends and the job that my dad had, I feel I had a better than average opportunity to dive into techology, so seeing some of these logos was a little nostalgic.

How many do you remember?

The Butte

February 3rd, 2008 Posted in General | No Comments »

Two post’s ago, I talked about Mt. Wison.  Now we don’t have a big enough yard, nor a structure to start off from.  But the need to have a hill for the kids to play on was desperately needed.

Here’s what I built…

Snow, snow and more snow.

February 3rd, 2008 Posted in General | No Comments »

This post will probably make a few of my family members a little jealous.

Since Sunday, (which I measured at our house to be 9 inches) we have received another 6 inches, then another 4 and last night, we received another 2 inches.

I know Jodi is tired of it, and I said I’m tired of driving in it, but, I love the snow.

Also, just finished building a small sled hill in our backyard, pictures and/or video will be posted later, and while it’s no Mt. Wilson, it can keep our kids busy for a while! Tired kids are always welcomed in our house.

Mt. Wilson

February 3rd, 2008 Posted in General | No Comments »

So one of my co-workers, and friend, decided that there was enough snow in his backyard to attempt to build a sled hill from the top of their swing-set.  And being the snow loving person that I am, I could not pass up an opportunity to take Ash over to at least look at it.  We ended up spending 45 minutes in the backyard with his two kids and Ash.  We called it Mt. Wilson, and I have to say, it takes work to get to the top (climbing the ladder), but the ride looks good.  I didn’t do it, but the kids have a blast…

Snow Park

Their yard still has a good 12 - 16″ of snow in some areas, even after taking snow from all around the structure.  We could throw the kids into the snow, and not hit the ground.

I love the C.O.!

Record set! Well, at least a personal record.

January 22nd, 2008 Posted in General | No Comments »

So, this morning I experienced a personal record.  I went out in -2 degree weather, however the thermometer registered -3 at about 5:00 am this morning.  It’s the kind of cold that freezes your nose hair.  I can’t imagine you could do anything physical out in it.  Just the few breaths I took heading out to the car were pretty chillin.

I’ll keep you posted if it gets lower anytime soon, although the 10-day forecast doesn’t predict anything lower than single digits.

New Server

January 14th, 2008 Posted in General | No Comments »

I decided that due to limits on Qwest DSL and something about them blocking my in-home server, I decided to move my blog to 977mb.com free hosting.

I’ve moved another blog to this company, and so far, it’s been great!

I’ll let you now if there are any problems.

What a Winter.

December 30th, 2007 Posted in General | No Comments »

So, we went and visited my family in Eugene for Christmas.  We had to travel over Santiam Pass, and while it took longer than normal due to snow, it wasn’t bad.  While we’ve been here, it’s dumped about 3 feet in the mountains and turned the normal slow-going pass, into one that’ is almost closed completely.  So, we will be heading back home during a “break” in the bad weather and traveling over the pass in some of the worst conditions I’ve ever driven in, and the worst weather the pass has seen in years.

Have a happy New Year!

Dancing Family

December 20th, 2007 Posted in General | No Comments »

So hopefully you’ve seen the dancing kids.  Well, now we all are getting in on the action.  And, as it so happens, these pictures were taken from the christmas card that is going out to friends and family.

Merry Christmas everyone!
